About MaybeWorks
A small institute for serious absurdity. Exploring uncertainty, kindness, and the lighter side of human hesitation.
The idea
MaybeWorks was founded on an observation: the internet became too sure of itself. We wanted to make a quieter corner — one that doesn’t sell, scroll, or shout. Here, experiments can fail gracefully and still make sense somehow.
There are no ads, no accounts, no pop-ups. Only little digital experiences that remind us it’s fine to be human, uncertain, and occasionally ridiculous.
Experiments so far
- #001 · The Compliment Machine — hyper-specific kindness at scale.
- #002 · MaybeCoin — an indecisive oracle for modern dilemmas.
- #003 · You Smell Great — a digital olfactory certification process.
- #004 · Excuse Generator — creative rationalization for almost anything.
- #005 · Delay — a polite refusal, again and again.
- #006 · PauseMachine — ten quiet seconds on purpose.
- #007 · TinyDecision — tiny dilemmas answered tiny-ly.
- #008 · Lost & Found — where misplaced things send postcards.
- #009 · Just One Word — one gentle prompt for the day.
- #010 · Timer of Doubt — hesitation, measured softly.
Each experiment is independent and self-contained. Together, they form an ever-expanding museum of tiny digital behaviors.
Philosophy
We believe small things matter. A smile that lasts two seconds. A sentence that makes you pause. A webpage that doesn’t ask you for anything in return.
MaybeWorks is not a company, a foundation, or a cult — yet. It’s just an ongoing attempt to build gentle technology — things that help people slow down, laugh softly, and remember that not everything needs to optimize itself.
